After fixing the inverter we left Capetown towards Garies on the N7 and drove north.

Along the way we passed several huge vineyards. We noticed a small scruffy roadstall and stopped to grab some wine and a bite to eat, only to be disappointed as they were closed. However, there was a friendly guy who suggested we try the Le Must Eatery in Moorreesburg, 20km down the road. It was a cozy place with super friendly people, great service and fantastic food.

We continued our journey towards Namaqua National Park on the West Coast. Powered by the Le Must “Fabulous Four Egg Omelette”, Mark elegantly mastered our first offroad section.

After checking into the park, we changed our plans and picked the first campsite Delwerskamp.

We had planned to go further north to Koringkorrelbaai, but in order to get there we would have had to drive through soft sand and it was already getting a bit late so we were concerned we could get stuck and end up having to dig the Landrover out of sand without daylight. We saved that part of the trip for the next day and quickly set up our rooftop tent in Delwerskamp, which was actually a fantastic site, very close to the sea, yet sheltered from the wind by a large rock.
